About us

Hibikino-Musashi is one of the RoboCup teams belonging RoboCup soccer middle size league. Many students from Kyushu Institute of Technology and The University of Kitakyuhu, Kitakyushu National College of Technology are being active with help of FAIS (Kitakyushu Foundation for the Advancement of Industry, Science and Technology).

GMD-Japan Research Laboratory and students in Kitakyushu Science and Research Park formed GMD-Musashi, the forerunner of Hibikino-Musashi, in 2001.

The number of the early members is 17 including Prof. Godler from The University of Kitakyushu, and associate professor Ishii and Miyamoto from Kyushu Institute of Technology. We have participated in RoboCup since 2002.

Our team name is derived from the name of our home town “Hibikino” and the name of a famous samurai “Miyamoto Musashi” and his fight.

We won the championship in RoboCup Japan Open in Osaka and 7th prize in the world tournament in Singapore in 2010.
